Let Them Be Little

Ray took these photos on Sunday. McKinley was a month old that day. Now, she is 5 weeks old. I intend to let her be little as long as I can. I love the song by Lonestar, "Let Them Be Little." If you haven't heard it, you really need to check it out on itunes. I copied the lyrics below the photos. Enjoy! We're off to Denali National Park for the weekend to honor McKinley's name Actually, we're going to enjoy time w/ family and friends w/ some good food on the side. We love this time of year here and plan to make the most of it. Make the most of each moment. Life is good!

Let Them Be Little

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand
Felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute
How it amazes me, you're changing with every blink
Faster than a flower blooms they grow up all too soon

So let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

I've never felt so much in one little tender touch
I live for those kisses, prayers and your wishes
Now that you're teaching me things only a child can see
Every night while we're on our knees all I ask is please

Let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

So innocent, a precious soul, you turn around
It's time to let them go

So let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

Let them be little

I LOVE that song!! It is something I truly believe and had to remind myself from time to time while the kids were growing up. It's easy to get so caught up in the responsibility of raising responsible, dependable, righteous children, that it is a good reminder that along with all of those things, we need to teach them joy.

McKinley is beautiful!! I am so excited that you posted pictures!! Stephen is such a handsome big brother!!

I will try calling you again soon. I really want to chat with you!!

LOTS of love!!

And what lovable little ones you have! I miss you, and I miss playing with your sweet ones (Sage included). Thanks for the reminder to enjoy them--I will think of that while sitting in sac. mtg. with 100 children under 3 and another 100 under 6. . . oh, and their parents.

I look forward to your blog regarding joy!

Love to you and yours!
