We are all smiles that the snow has finally returned to our neck of the woods.

We decided to make Saturday a special day by making it an adventure in the winter wonderland. Ray pulled Stephen and McKinley in our big black sled while I glided by his side on my ski's. Sage held her own by pouncing with her paws.

There is a beautiful lake located about a 2 minute walk away from our home. It is our ice rink and our cross country skiing course in the winter. So, we ventured off on the lake (don't worry, it really is frozen,) and then off into a trail in the forest that took us away from it all. No cars, no snow machines, just peace and quiet. We did hear laughter from the children and that was the greatest noise of all. They were so thrilled to be "free." After a nice ride in the sled, they got out and hiked for a while. We took a hot cocoa break and played hide and seek. You can imagine the squeals from Stephen and McKinley as we found them hiding behind big trees. It was a pleasant temperature and we felt so alive! I love living in Alaska!

After our 5 mile adventure, the kids were getting very sleepy and laid down in the sled. Sweet dreams.
I asked Stephen and McKinley if they liked having a family fun day together and Stephen's response was............................(listen carefully to the video I took and see if you can figure out. If not, let me know and I'll translate. : )
May you feel the warmth of winter in your neck of the woods.
Love, Kary

Super cute Kary! Love the pics and video. Although I'm grateful you are the ones enjoying the snow while I enjoy having no snow. -Tess
