The Bernese Mountain Dog Club got together to strut their stuff. There was a lot of tail wagging going on and smiling faces of dogs and children. Sage made us proud parents. She obeyed Ray's commands throughout the the parade. She did not pull or act like an animal (even though she is one. ) : ) She loves pulling her cart now. I walked her around our neighborhood the week before the parade w/ her cart harnessed on. I told her she was going to be a good girl in the parade as we trained her and she performed as well as she practiced. It's so nice to see your "children" succeed. Consistent training and lots of praise does truly pay off.
Way to go Sage! You get a treat!
Ray and Sage walking down 6th Ave in downtown Anchorage. It was a beautiful sunny day w/ a temp of 20°. Beth, Stephen and I stood on the sidewalk to watch the parade and take pictures. Stephen loved all the excitement.
The ice sculptures by the Performing Arts Centers still stand strong even after melting temps of 40°. Did I mention we had to get up at 6am on a Saturday to make it to the parade in time? It was well worth the effort. Stephen even got to go on his first merry go round ride. I'll post more pictures of that later. It seems I'm only able to post 3 pictures at a time for now.
Rondy on!
Love,
Kary

Kary!
Hopefully you got my email. Sorry I haven't been able to return your call yet. I totally want to talk sometime.
I love Fur "Rondy"!!! When I was on my mission we went down and experienced some of the festivities. I also was able to ride on a dogsled for the first time at it. Was a blast!!!
Looks like all of you are doing GREAT!!! Wish I could be there to hang with you. Miss you tons!!!
Love, Tess
Hi gals.
Good to hear from you cheryl and Tess. Thanks for checking in. I don't blog much since little Toddler time w/ Stephen seems to consume me, but it's worth it.
I haven't checked my email for a while, so I"ll do that.
Our home is always open for visitors, so please come see us anytime!
I've never been on a dogsled ride, but Ray went last christmas w/ him Mom and said it was one of the most awesome Alaska adventures he's ever had. So, I'm glad you got to experience it Tess.
cheryl, you go out on that walk w/Fitz. It will be worth it. I walk every day w/ Sage and Stephen (he's in my double jogger stroller) and it's a great work out. I always feel better upon returning home.
Press on!
Love ya!

Fun Stuff! Ray looks so serious! Maybe he was just frozen?
Sage is still the only dog that I have any warm feelings for. And that is saying a lot!
Good doggy pulling the cart! I remember the first time she tried it, I just happened to be there. I also remember a few choice words being spoken! Looks like she got the hang of it!
RUFF! RUFF! RUFF! (That is dog-talk for YOU GO GIRL!!)
Love you,
ME
I have been trying to get out with Fitz every day. Some days we don't make it, but he and I both really need it!!
He is so big and strong that it is really a workout for me. This morning he was especially aggressive. I have to literally hold him back!! He just wants to walk really fast!
I have never enjoyed running, but am trying to run for a part of the time each day. As fast as we walk sometimes, it isn't must more to pick it up to a run.
You are my inspiration, my friend! (That could be a song!!!) ;p)
Lots of love!
