Last week we enjoyed an Alaskan adventure in the Cooper Landing area.
The journey began at Resurrection Pass for Ray. He ran his first ultra marathon (50 miles), with a couple of friends. The kids and I drove down with with some friends to meet the runners
at mile 38 in Hope.
We then cheered them on to the finish line.
Here is one of Daddy's greatest cheerleaders, McKinley.
Here comes Ray at mile 45.
The 3 Amigos at the finish (notice the STOP sign.) They were very happy to stop running. : )
Camping begins at Quartz Creek Campground. Stephen is standing by Kenai Lake which is just a short distance from our campsite. It was a spectacular view.
McKinley loves playing in the rocks with her truck and shovel.
So happy to be camping!
Stephen giving McKinley a flower. What a sweet big brother.
We drove down to Kenai where the dip netters were fishing for salmon. We watched them from the bench above the beach.
We took a drive to check out Trail River campground. Lots of good memories here with Mom, Dad
and siblings.
Mommy and McKinley taking a break on the log while Stephen is working on his water squirter.
Yes, it's a rainy day, but we still play.
Walking in a creek at Lost Lake trail near Seward.
McKinley is so grateful to have her rubber boots on so she can splash in the creek.
Rugged running in Seward. I followed the trail along the ocean and enjoyed a 5 mile run. Looking at Mt. Marathon during the journey was very inspiring.
I made it! The spray from the waterfall feels fabulous!
Play time at the beach by Kenai Lake.
Stephen says: "I love wearing Carharts!"
Stick fishing is fun!
Maybe if I use a bigger stick, I'll catch a bigger fish!
A new find in Snug Harbor (Cooper Landing) area. It was so peaceful there. We enjoyed a
picnic together and then skipped rocks in the lake.
Hiking a new trail. Also located in Snug Harbor. "Rainbow trail" was the
perfect hike w/ kids. Only 1/2 mile in, 1/2 mile out. They loved it.
"All aboard!"
When it's a rainy day in Seward, it's nice to go in and get warm at the Sea Life Center.
McKinley loved touching the sea stars. They are her favorite.
The sea lion was a great performer at the Sea Life Center.
Our journey was filled with family fun. We loved being together and creating memories that will
last forever.
Family, isn't it about time? ; )
