Kindergarten Kick-off!

Stephen attended his first day of Kindergarten at Tanaina Elementary today.

He was only slightly excited.  Last night, we had laid out his clothes he was going to wear and put them on his dresser.  I went down to check on him around 10pm last night and found
that his PJ's had been taken off and replaced with his school clothes.  That's right, Stephen was so
excited to go to school, he thought he'd get dressed early.  He was sound asleep in his school clothes when I checked on him and all I could do was smile.  Then, as I laid in my bed at night, I thought:
"what if his clothes are all wrinkly when he wakes up or what if he has an accident?"  Oh well,
he sure knows how to keep life full of fun.

Ready to go!  What are we waiting for?  Is it time for school yet?
He even remembered to put his lunchbox in his backpack by himself.  I might have forgotten.
Way to be a big boy Stephen!

Here we are in his classroom.  He found his name tag and proudly held it up for Mommy to see.

GQ modeling pose before socializing with the chicks in his Kinder class.

Stephen is all smiles as he thinks about Mr. Rains being his Kindergarten teacher.  Or maybe
he's thinking:  "Wow, that guy is as tall as a tree, maybe he'll let me climb on him. "

Feeling cool about Kindergarten!

Here's Stephen pondering over BYU's motto:
"Enter to learn, go forth to serve."

He entered.  :  )
I hope he will always have a desire to serve others.

Pattern blocks are the best!  The brain is already buzzing w/ creativity.

A tender embrace as Stephen says: "goodbye" to McKinley.
He really does love his little sister.

There's a time to be serious and a time to be silly.  Stephen knows how to do both.

I hope he has a fantastic year in school.  It's time for him to arise and shine forth that his little light may be a standard to the nations.

Shine bright Stephen!  We love you Mr. Golden Son.

Looks like fun. Let the adventures begin . . . they learn so much in school, especially from the other kids. :-) Best of luck to Stephen in all his endeavors! We start on Monday. Should be FUN!

What a handsome young man. People and pictures say that Austin is a clone of John, but WOW Austin and Stephen are starting to look like twins. There has got to be some Hafen in them ;).
