Meeting Martin & Lego Land

Yesterday, Stephen, McKinley and I went to the Sports Complex for a special event. It was like a mini Fair for kids. And, it was free! They had a huge bouncing castle, a huge inflatable slide, bungee jumping, soccer, golf, etc. The special guest of honor was an Iditarod Champion, Martin Buser. He was there with a few of his puppies that are being prepared for future Iditarod runs. Stephen got to pet his puppies and get his picture with him. He was very kind. Stephen told him he has a Bernese Moutain Dog. Martin asked Stephen: "Do you know where your dog originated from?" Stephen looks at me, like...what does "originated" mean? I told Stephen, "Switzerland." And, Martin says: "I am from Swizterland." Pretty cool, huh? I had Stephen ask him how many miles he would be mushing with his dogs? Martin said: "About 1,000 miles." I asked Stephen: "Is that lot or a little?" And Stephen said with a smile: "A lot!" We got Martin's autograph on a picture you can see him holding. Then, we wished him good luck and went on our way. McKinley was not interested in getting a picture with him. : )

Stephen with Martin Buser.

McKinley building Legos. It feels like Lego Land around here. She could build all day and be happy (as long as big brother doesn't interfere with her creations. : )

Serious concentration goes into building w/ Legos. She loves to make up her own designs. Maybe she'll grow up to be an architect.

Stephen says he is posing as Captain America.

Thumbs up for Legos!

Didn't Martin do the Iditarod like 20 years ago? He has not aged a day! That was brave of Stephen to talk to/get a picture with him . . . I am not surprised that McKinley did not want her picture taken with some strange man. ;-) Legos are awesome . . . that is all that is going on at our house, too! Our kitchen table is covered with them! Fun!

It is so delightful to see all those cute faces! And I'm not even biased! I enjoyed peeking into your world for a little bit tonight. Thanks for posting such happy moments. I'm glad you are well. And I still play with Legos on occasion (I have a very large stash...) Hugs to you and yours!
