A Soldier's Silent Night

www.tankmastergunner.com/silent%20night.htm

A few days ago, I was driving my car around town listening to Christmas music on the radio. While driving, Santa Claus came on the radio and began telling a story about a Soldier he found Christmas Eve, lying all alone. No tree, no family, no presents. Santa began to cry at the sight, but the Soldier awoke and told Santa to "carry on." The Soldier had chosen this path and promised Santa that all was secure.
Every time I hear this story (w/ Silent Night playing in the background), I begin to cry and my heart fills w/ love for the men and women who serve and protect our United States. We are free to enjoy the holidays because of their sacrifice and love for their fellowmen, their Country and most importantly their God. May we all take a moment to ponder their purpose and their devotion to make our Christmas' merry.

Please find some quiet time (about 3 minutes is all), to click on the link and be uplifted by Santa's story of a Soldier he visited one Silent Night.

If the link doesn't get you there, just Google...."A Soldier's Silent Night" and you will find it.
Merry Christmas!

Glad you found it. I believe it should be listened to every day this holdiay season to remind us how blessed we truly are. My heart goes out to the Soldiers watching over us. We would all do well to remember them in our prayers (and their families). Can you imagine hearing that story and being the wife of one of the Soldiers...left alone to make sure Christmas happens at home w/out him? But, because he is not home, you can safely and securely celebrate with your little "jewels." amazing!

Kary, thank you so much for sharing this poem. It really touched me as well. In my minds eye I could see the soldiers in Iraq so valiantly standing up for freedom and enduring so much to keep us free. I am so grateful for them and for the sacrifices they have made for me.

I think it is fitting to remember them during this season. We celebrate the birth of our Elder Brother, who sacrificed so much for us; who selflessly lived a perfect life to show us the way and who endured so much to make it possible for us to return to live with our Heavenly Father again!

We are so blessed!!

LOTS of love!
