Turkey Day dutch oven style

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Beth brought a friend, so that made 5 of us, well 6 including Sage (you know she is half human.) : ) The weather was warm, 45°. We had 8 inches of snow on Monday, but it was down to 1/2 an inch on Thursday....amazing! We enjoyed our dutch oven turkey and all the other food that filled our guts to the rim. Thank goodness for Tums and Alka Seltzer. : ) Beth made a traditional Pineapple Turkey w/ gumdrops. Nan created the head and gave it to Beth a few years ago. Isn't it so cute? I know Sammi and Dan would love making one of these next year Mari. All you need is a pineapple, toothpicks, gumdrops, and a cute turkey head. We ate a lot of the pineapple today. yummy! We played Password, sang around the piano, enjoyed the fire outside and watched some Monk episodes. It was nice to relax and be together as family. I love the holidays. I got out the Christmas tree today. I will begin setting it up tonight. Tis the season to be jolly!

Smiles!

That is so funny, I was about to get all the stuff for the pineapple turkey, then I thought the gumdrops might be too much fun for the kids! I even made a paper turkey head for it! I decided on the chocolate turkey cupcakes instead ;-). Yum!

Looks like you guys had fun. We sure missed all the family!

Lots of love!
